Each South East Youth Dance Network (SEYDN) hub has access to a small amount of funding to add value to the work of its members. Funding is only available to youth dance providers who are actively involved in the the SEYDN hub meetings

Hampshire Dance is delighted to announce the latest round of grants awarded through the South East Youth Dance Network (SEYDN) Hubs. NRG Youth Dance & Health project
March 2007 saw the launch of the findings of groundbreaking research undertaken by Hampshire Dance and Laban .
The research assesses the effects of a ten week creative dance programme on the physiological and psychological health and fitness characteristics of school children aged 11-14 years. It has provided the first scientific evidence proving creative dance improves children’s physical and psychological fitness.

Hampshire Dance has produced two CD Roms:
NRG: Be healthy through dance
A teaching resource of creative dance ideas with a health focus aimed at those working with young people. Developed through the NRG project, this resource includes practical ideas for warm-up, sequences designed to raise the heart rate and creative tasks around the body and healthy lifestyles.
Dancing Science
A teaching resource packed with creative dance ideas that provide a highly effective and exciting scheme of dance activity for primary schools, whilst simultaneously supporting delivery of the Key Stage 2 science curriculum.
