Other supportMore information for dancers and choreographers FundingThe major source of funding for dancers and dance makers is Arts Council England. They support individuals and groups to research, develop, make and tour work and attend training. Contact the Dance Officer at the South East office to discuss your ideas before applying. There is now a central number for all ACE offices:0845 300 6200. Not-for-profit groups can apply to Awards For All for between £500 and £5000 Often local authorities have small funds that you can apply for – contact your local authority arts development officer. You will get their number from your local authority. Search under ‘local government’ at Yell. Trusts tend to only give money to registered charities. You can look at the Directory of Grant Making Trusts in libraries, and they sometimes have ‘Funderfinder’ software which makes searching easier. There are special funds that give money for research travel abroad: Other training providersIn addition to Hampshire Dance, South East Dance in Brighton, Swindon Dance and Dorset Dance also provide professional classes regionally.
