Hampshire Youth Dance Company is a group of young dancers that meet weekly at The Point, Eastleigh.

They work with their rehearsal director and guest choreographers to create dance pieces that are performed in and around Hampshire.

The company has worked with a very diverse and exciting range of choreographers over the last twelve years. The present company are currently performing “January 8th ”, choreographed by Lila Dance, and recently performed in Jonathon Lunn's show "Reading Room" with actor Alan Rickman.

We choose the company of 20 dancers from an annual audition held in July. Any young dancer aged 13 to 21 years from Hampshire, Southampton or Portsmouth can apply to join. We look for committed dancers with some experience of contemporary dance, and bags of enthusiasm for creating and performing.
Each audition lasts two hours and consists of a dance class followed by some creative tasks.

We will be auditioning again in July 2008.
